Community forums address questions about mental health

FORT PIERCE – New Horizons is pleased to announce the introduction of a series of community forums to discuss mental health issues and how to access services in the Treasure Coast community.

The forums will be facilitated by staff members Anne C. Lotierzo, M.S., LMHC; and Kory M. Snyder, M.S.W., from the Emergency Assessment Services and Mobile Crisis Department at New Horizons.

The forums will be:

"Mental Health: Signs and Symptoms of Crisis": Monday, Feb. 27, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

"Baker Act Basics": Monday, March 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

"Marchman Act Basics": Monday, April 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

All forums will be held in the conference room located on the main campus of New Horizons, at 4500 W. Midway Road, in Fort Pierce. Admission is free and open to the public. For questions, please call 772-672-8478.

New Horizons is the largest mental health agency in the region with eight facilities serving 13,000 children and adults annually, regardless of their ability to pay. More than half of the clients have no source of income or insurance.
